Dividing Decimals

1. The general rule of diving decimals is to always make sure that the divisor is a whole number.
2. Example on how to transform the divisor to a whole number.

1. Find the quotient of 762 divided by 0.64

2. Find the quotient of 7.6 divided by 0.32

3. Find the quotient of 7 divided by 0.03

This third example is a problem that involves repeating / recurring decimals. If you repeat the process of division and you get same answer then the decimal is a repeating decimal. Thus to indicate that the decimal is repeating, we put a bar at the top of the repeating number. For this probem we put at the top of 3.
