How long will it take workers A and B, together, to finish a job which can be done by A alone in 6 days and by B alone in 4 days?

    Solution:

    Together: \( \frac{1}{A} + \frac{1}{B} = \frac{1}{T}\)

Where: A are the number of days A can finish the job alone . B are the number of days B can finish the job alone. T are the number of days A and B can finish the job together.

    \( \frac{1}{6} + \frac{1}{4} = \frac{1}{T}\)

    \( \frac{5}{12} = \frac{1}{T}\)

    \( T = \frac{12}{5} =2.4 \) days
