Two angles are supplementary (their sum is 180o). If one is doubled, the result is 69o less than the other angle. Find the other angles. Solution:

Let \(A\) and \(B\) be the supplementary angles.

    \(A+B = 180\)

    \(2A = B-69\)

    \(B = 2A +69\)

    \(A + 2A +69 = 180\)

    \(3A + 69 = 180 \)

    \(A = 37^o\)

    \(B = 143^o\)
