Find the slope of the tangent line to the curve given by the equation $$y = 3x^2 +2x+ 1$$ at x =2.

Solution:

Slope = $$\frac{dy}{dx}$$

$$\frac{dy}{dx} = 6x +2$$

At x = 2

$$\frac{dy}{dx} = 6(2) +2$$

$$\frac{dy}{dx} = 14$$
